Senior Housekeeping Supervisor


The Buller Housekeeping Team maintain a number of accommodation houses, and private apartments, as well as general public cleaning of all venues, staff accommodation houses, offices and buildings utilised by Buller Ski Lifts. Housekeepers and Public Area Attendants Supervisors are responsible for the supervision and training of staff in the general cleaning and upkeep of guestrooms and other assigned areas to include public areas. By adhering to the highest quality of industry standards, our housekeeping team ensures guest satisfaction every step of the way. We're looking for guest service oriented individuals who value cleanliness, time management, are energetic, organised/methodical, who want to reward hard work with some fun on the mountain.

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

·        Supervising and training staff on standard operating procedures.

·        Inspecting hotel rooms, apartments and public areas post cleaning and pre guest arrival.

·        Assists with cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways.

·        Washes shower walls and tub, cleans toilet, cleans mirrors, sinks and walls in order to have clean and sanitary guest restrooms

·        Strips bed of all linen and remakes with fresh, checking bedspread, blankets and bed pads for cleanliness, replacing if soiled

·        Vacuums rooms, public areas and hallways, operating vacuums and lifting/moving heavy furniture

·        Replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities

·        Report maintenance items through proper channels on a daily basis

·        Ensuring the correct handling of lost property

·        Efficient and hygienic cleaning of all food areas at Mt Buller’s food outlets and bistros

·        Comply with OHS standards for chemical handling

·        Ensure that proper safety guidelines and uses equipment tools

·        Daily responsibilities will involve the use of radios, phones, cleaning supplies, broom, mop, pushing a cleaning cart and vacuum

·        Removal of trash as needed

·        Cleaning and vacuuming of public areas and back offices

·        Complies with all Resort policies, procedures and standards of operation

·        Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management

We’re looking for people with:

·        Prior cleaning and/or housekeeping experience – preferred

·        Full drivers license with full rights in Australia

·        Supervision experience

·        Basic English – required

·        Customer service experience, preferably in a hotel or related field - preferred

·        Ability to learn quickly and work in fast paced position with guest interaction - required

·        Ability to lift, pull, and push moderate to heavy amount of weight - required

·        Able to stand for long periods of time in excess of 4 hours without sitting - required

·        Able to reach, balance, crouch, stoop and bend frequently throughout the day – required

·        Honest, trustworthy and reliable - required

·        Flexibility to work early and/or late shifts is essential - required

** Please note, this role does require the successful applicant to live on Mount Buller.
