Ski Club of Victoria - Kitchen Hand

The Ski Club of Victoria, passionately know as ‘The Whitt’ is looking for reliable and energetic kitchen hands, with an outgoing personality and positive attitude to join our dynamic and diverse team for the upcoming winter season.

When the snow falls ‘The Whitt’ is buzzing and the place to be on the mountain. We are 7 days a week operation, with a busy 100-seater restaurant and bar, café, and function venue.

The successful candidate will be a hard-working team player that is self-motivated, with excellent time management and communication skills. Previous experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist Chef in the preparation and cooking of food, as required.
• Clean benches, surfaces, floors, and other kitchen areas.
• Wash and clean utensils and dishes, and make sure they are stored appropriately.
• Handling, sorting, storage, and distribution food items.
• Sort and dispose of rubbish and recycling.
• laundering of kitchen linen.

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role.
• Food handling certificate.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Ability to follow directions and workplace policies and procedures.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

This is a casual seasonal position across a 7-day operation, that includes days, evenings, and weekend shifts.
