The Ski Club of Victoria is seeking an experienced and hands-on Food and Beverage Manager to lead our team and deliver an exceptional dining experience to our members and guests for the upcoming winter season.

When the snow falls ‘The Whitt’ is buzzing and the place to be. We are 7 days a week operation with multiple food and beverage outlets, including a busy 100-seater restaurant and bar, function venue and café, that offers some of the best food and dining experiences on Mt Buller.
Throughout our venues we serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our restaurant and bar is a family friendly venue with a focus is on classic brasserie style food and fresh produce that offers a fun and efficient working environment.
Our small, but busy café, serving house roasted coffee and takeaway eats. It’s a Mount Buller hot spot and is known for its flavoursome coffee and delicious quick bites, while you are hitting the slopes.
Additionally, we have two function rooms to cater for large functions, events, and school groups.
The ideal candidate will be a hospitality professional with a minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role. You will have a proven ability to lead and manage a team, ensure high-quality service and guest satisfaction is provided and manage costs within set budgets.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Weekly rostering of food and beverage team
- Overseeing planning and delivery of all functions and events
- Ensure all POS software is up to date and functioning correctly
- Induction and training of F&B staff
- Ensure general maintenance and presentation of the club is of an excellent standard
- Maintain a professional and friendly team culture
- Ensure F&B par levels are maintained, stock levels monitored and orders placed as required
- Action and responsibly handle customer queries and complaints
- Ensure daily balancing of terminal shifts and that all revenue is accounted for and charges posted correctly
Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent organisational and communication skills including the ability to delegate and give clear direction to the team.
- Hands on leader who can train and motivate the team.
- Ability to operate within existing policies and procedures.
- Display a high level of professionalism and positivity.
- Able to multitask, remain calm under pressure and consistently deliver superior customer service.
- Proficiency in the use of MS office suite, staff rostering software and POS systems
- Strong knowledge of wines, cocktails, and beers.
- Experience in beverage ordering and stock control.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate (Victoria)
This is a full-time seasonal contract (May – End of September) across a 7-day operation that will includes days, evenings and weekend shifts.
